About The Artist
Kaoru Tanabe, an artist from the lively city of Osaka, is known for her bold, experimental approach to art. Growing up in a family of craftspeople, Kaoru was exposed to the vibrant world of traditional Japanese textiles and ceramics, which heavily influence her work today. However, her time studying in New York introduced her to Western abstract art, shaping her current style—a fusion of Japanese tradition and modern abstraction.
Kaoru’s art often features animals in motion, like leaping deer or flying cranes, depicted with sweeping brushstrokes and dynamic patterns. Her choice of color palettes—ranging from deep indigos to shimmering golds—pays homage to traditional Japanese aesthetics while remaining distinctly contemporary. Her popular series, Whispers of the Wild, has been celebrated for its emotional depth and innovative technique.
Kaoru has exhibited her work at the Osaka Contemporary Art Fair and was a finalist for the Global Artists’ Award. She views her art as a reflection of life’s rhythm and energy, aiming to inspire others to embrace their own creative flow.
